- are recommended to teenagers after second dentition and adults
- consist of special locks (brackets), which are fixed on the outer surface of teeth (vestibular technique) or the inside of teeth (lingual technique) and metal arch which is placed in the slots of the locks
- the treatment takes 1 – 5 years depending on the difficulty of the anomaly
- brackets can be made of different materials (metal, ceramic, sapphire) depending on patients’ request
